donate Uncle Sam bucks

We have been able to build this business starting in May 2020 with my first stimulus check, and then a gift-certificate campaign to help me get the doors open. Since then members of the community have offered muscle, fabric, supplies, tools, wisdom, and dollars to keep Swanson’s growing sustainably, and in an ethical and humane way. I have been privileged to keep big banks out of the mix while maintaining control of my business rather than give up ownership to a non-profit board or some other such structure. Ultimately Swanson’s will become a co-op, and I am building the team to run this little machine. The shop turned two years old in August of 2022, and I am so proud of how far we have come, how well things are working, and how much everyone has been willing to contribute to this effort. Together we are rewriting what it means to be a business, what it means to profit, what it means to work, what it means to rest, what it means to take care, and what it means to contribute.

If you have money that you can stand to part with, I can assure you that it will be used to build this community of people who are determined to take back what it means to be a human. We are empowered to dress ourselves and to do it using what we already have around us rather than choosing to unethically extract more resources from the world and its people.

Thank you so much, I am humbled and empowered by all of your support,

❤️💪🏻 Kathryn
