30 days starts …now!

Great news

Thanks to the herculean efforts of Swanson’s Education and Programming Director, Elsa, we were approved for a $10,000 grant from Biz-M-Power!

The DEAL

The grant is a fund-matching grant, which means that to receive the $10,000 grant, we need to crowdfund $10,000 (that means Swanson’s could end up with $20,000!).

We only have 30 days. (As I write this, we are almost 12 hours in and already almost 80% of the way to our goal!)

An exciting element to this campaign is that every dollar beyond the $10,157 that will be matched is ours to use as we need!

The Exchange

We operate on an abundance model. What does that mean?

Think of the Stone Soup story, where soldiers pass through a small village that says it has no food to spare until the soldiers say they are going to throw a feast for the town and serve stone soup. They get the feast started by dropping 3 stones into a pot of water; by the end of the story, everyone has shared what they have, and the whole town, including the soldiers, eats well.

TLDR: When we ask for anything, it is ALWAYS with the intention of offering something in exchange.

In exchange for your generous support in accessing this grant, we are offering:

To read more about the levels of giving (or if you’re convinced and ready to donate) check out our fundraiser page here.

What are we going to use this money for?

Funding from this campaign will:

  • Buy a Moxie XL Longarm Quilter and ProStitcher Lite

  • Buy us a dumpster to deal with the material pileup in our sorting room! It isn't just fabric that comes in our doors...

  • Buy 2 industrial air filters for our classroom, sorting room, and fabric shop

  • Buy shelving, signage, and more to improve our facilities and classroom layout

These will allow us to have a whole new suite of classes and equipment available to Stash House members and the community.

Why do we need these things?

Adding Moxie XL Longarm Quilter and ProStitcher Lite to our Stash House set of tools gives us the opportunity to serve our community even better, as the average home quilter doesn't have access to a longarm quilting machine. Additionally, it will help us create new revenue-boosting opportunities through classes, workshops, and quilting services.

We aren’t about increasing profits to fill a corporate overlord's pockets—all profits go directly to ensuring we can continue offering affordable fiber art supplies by paying cool people, feeding cute cats, and keeping the lights on.

Thank you

This community astounds us every day with its generosity. Even beyond the material, we are so grateful to receive and be part of your stories and creations. Thank you for your support in whatever form you give it.
